West Bromwich Albion have some rather notable names among their fanbase.

The Baggies have an extremely rich history, having won five FA Cups as well as the top-flight title back in 1920. In more recent times, though, West Brom have had huge ups and downs, as they float between the Premier League and the Championship.

Being a Baggies supporter has come with its positives and negatives over the last couple of decades, having last won a trophy in 2008. This season, the club find themselves in a strong position for promotion to the Premier League, as they sit in the middle of a fiery play-off race. They face plenty of competition, but Baggies supporters will be hoping to see their club return to the top-flight, after suffering relegation in 2021.

The majority of EFL clubs have some famous supporters, but the list of West Bromwich celebrity fans is quite impressive, with some big names possessing a love for the West Midlands club. Today, Football League World looks at some of the club's most famous supporters.

Skinner is a popular name in the British entertainment industry, having presented TV shows such as Room 101, Fantasy Football League and The Frank Skinner Show. Perhaps, he is most well-known by many for his "Three Lions" song alongside David Baddiel and The Lightning Seeds.

The song has become popular among England supporters during International tournaments since 1996, and is a big part of English football culture.

In terms of club football, West Brom is Skinner's club, having grown up in the West Bromwich area and supporting the Baggies. He can regularly be spotted at the Hawthorns, cheering his club on.

Lenny Henry

The 65-year-old has been a popular comedian and actor for several decades. He is known for co-founding the charity 'Comic Relief' and often presenting the annual show.

Born in Dudley in the West Midlands, Henry is lifelong West Brom supporter. In an interview with Virgin Radio last year, the comedian was asked about the first football game he ever attended.

"The first football match I ever went to was at West Bromwich Albion, and it was when ‘The Three Degrees’ were playing. So, Cyrille Regis, the legendary Laurie Cunningham and the fantastic Brendon Batson".

Eric Clapton

Regarded as one of rock's greatest ever legends, Clapton is also known to be a Baggies supporter. He has previously been spotted at the Hawthorns, and in his 1978 album 'Backless', he sported a West Bromwich Albion scarf.

The 78-year-old is considered one of the most successful guitarists of all time.

Liam Payne

Staying on the theme of musicians, Liam Payne grew up as a West Brom supporter, despite being born in Wolverhampton. Payne was one fifth of the boy band, One Direction; one of the biggest pop bands of all time.

The 30-year-old quickly rose to fame after appearing on X-Factor in 2010, which led him to join the incredibly successful boy band. Payne is a known fan of football, having appeared in Soccer Aid.

Adrian Chiles

Not many have a greater love for West Bromwich Albion than TV and radio presenter, Adrian Chiles. The 56-year-old is a lifelong supporter and a season ticket holder at the Hawthorns.

His love for the Baggies even led him to write a book about what it is like to support West Brom.
