Millwall haven't had the greatest of fortunes when it comes to success in recent years - but they still boast a serious catalogue of famous fans when it comes to those supporting the club.

The Lions missed out on the Championship play-offs last season after throwing away a 3-1 lead at home to Blackburn Rovers on the final day of the season, which saw Sunderland sneak into the top six and ensure another campaign of Championship football at The Den, where they are currently embroiled in a relegation battle.

And, as one of the biggest clubs in the country never to play Premier League football, the Bermondsey-based outfit are still yearning for that place at the top table - but their fans haven't wained in their absence from playing huge teams such as Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Football League World talks you through five of their most famous fans.

David Haye

One of British boxing's best stars of the 21st century, David 'The Hayemaker' Haye is a renowned name across the UK and in worldwide boxing circles. The London-born star grew up in Bermondsey, and as such supports his local team.

A natural fighter, his profile fits in perfectly with Millwall's particularly dogged way of playing under Neil Harris - and he'll be hoping the team show as much fight as he did in the ring in a bid to avoid relegation to the third tier come the end of the campaign.

Haye admitted that he doesn't visit The Den as often as he'd like but has made his support no secret.

Blake Harrison

Blake Harrison is known for playing Neil Sutherland in the critically acclaimed and nationally-treasured show 'The Inbetweeners'; and his support for the Lions came to light in 2020 in a message he posted on his X account.

Born in Peckham, Harrison has frequented The Den in the past, even being spotted at a Millwall vs Crystal Palace game with fellow Inbetweeners star James Buckley, who plays schoolmate Jay Cartwright. And, as per one of his famous quotes from the sure, he may well see the Lions' recent form as 'no problemo' under Neil Harris.

Daniel Day-Lewis

The proud owner of three Oscars, four BAFTA awards, and two Golden Globe awards, Sir Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the finest British exports when it comes to acting.

Famed for featuring in films such as Gandhi, Gangs of New York, Lincoln and Martin Scorsese’s The Age of Innocence, Day-Lewis has won it all on the acting front - and he will be waiting for his football team to do the same after admitting he was a Millwall fan in his BAFTA acceptance speech back in 2007.

Gregg Wallace

Masterchef supremo Gregg Wallace is also a Millwall fan - after being spotted with the club's badge on his chest whilst on holiday back in 2016.

Adorning the television screens of many in one of the UK's most famous cooking shows, Wallace was also born in Peckham, in a close proximity to Millwall's roots. Becoming an icon of British popular culture over the past decade-and-a-half, Wallace is another famous name to add to this list.

Gary Oldman

Another actor, Gary Oldman is equally as experienced as Day-Lewis.

He has featured in blockbuster classics such as Harry Potter - where he played the famous character Sirius Black - alongside other huge hits such as The Dark Knight and recent box office film Oppenheimer.

But Oldman's also a Lions fan, having admitted his love for the Lions back in 2018 via Luxury London.
