Ever since Kylian Mbappe joined Paris Saint-Germain, the forward has proved that he is not a one-dimensional attacking player. Under manager Thomas Tuchel, Mbappe has also grown as a playmaking forward. From assists to chances created for teammates, Mbappe is one talent who can change the complexion of a game by being an unselfish on-ball player.
Mbappe is also developing as a playmaker in the Champions League. More so, he has recorded the most assists in this competition since the 2017/2018 edition of the tournament.
As Opta points out, Mbappe’s opening assist to Moise Kean in PSG’s fixture against Basaksehir gave him his 14th overall assist dating back to the 2017/2018 Champions League. However, Mbappe did pick up another assist later in the second half, which now gives him 15 over this period.
Mbappe has had some memorable assists in the Champions League with PSG. For instance, he provided the key pass to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting for the pivotal game-winning goal against Atalanta in last season’s Champions League knockout stage.
Mbappe continues to showcase how much of a multi-dimensional attacker he truly is.
