Wolfsburg forward Max Kruse (34) has announced that he’s remaining at Bundesliga club Wolfsburg this summer. His confirmation comes after reports suggesting that he’s not satisfied with playing time at VfL. Kruse has started just one of four league games under Niko Kovac this season.

“No, I’m not changing,” Kruse announced on Instagram. “I know it’s deadline day, but I’m staying in Wolfsburg.”

In the final year of his contract at Wolfsburg. His deal has an automatic extension should he play a certain amount of games. As reported by Kicker, one option for Kruse would be to join an MLS club in January.

Since rejoining Wolfsburg from Union Berlin in January for €5m, Kruse has played 18 Bundesliga games, scoring seven and creating one. Last season for both VfL and Union Berlin, the former Germany international scored 12 and created six in 30 Bundesliga games.

During his career, Kruse has spent just one season outside of Germany, at Fenerbahce during the 2019/20 season.
