Sport Bild report that Fabio Silva has rejected a move to Wolfsburg. VfL’s pursuit of an attacker comes after Jonas Wind’s reluctance to sign an extension at the Bundesliga club, with his current deal having 12 months remaining.
The 22-year-old scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 24 La Liga games at Las Palmas last season, where he spent the entire campaign on loan from Wolves. His rejection of Wolfsburg comes with a preference to join a club that is playing European football.
Wolfsburg have so far signed Mohamed Amoura and Denis Vavro on permanent deals, while also confirming the arrival of 17-year-old Polish goalkeeper Jakub Zielinski from Legia Warsaw for a reported €900k.
Borussia Dortmund have also shown interest in signing Silva as a back-up to Serhou Guirassy. The Portuguese attacker is expected to leave Wolves this summer following spells in the Netherlands, Belgium, Scotland, and, most recently, Spain.
