As Sevilla step up their search for a new head coach, Maurizio Sarri has emerged as a prime candidate. With Quique Sánchez Flores leaving at the end of the season, Víctor Orta and Del Nido Carrasco are focusing on securing a strong leader for next season.

While García Pimienta (UD Las Palmas) and Jagoba Arrasate (CA Osasuna) are in the mix, Sarri’s name has also gained significant traction.

As per El Desmarque, the former Chelsea boss has had ‘direct contact’ with a group range of foreign clubs, one of which is believed to be Sevilla.

Reports from Italy indicate that Sarri is still considering Sevilla’s offer, which appeals more due to the project’s potential rather than financial incentives.

Bologna, expected to part ways with Thiago Motta despite their Champions League qualification, have also been heavily linked with Sarri. Despite rumours, Sarri denied any links, stating: “I’ve read about these discussions, but I haven’t been in contact. The clubs I’ve spoken to are all from outside Italy.”

He also stated: “I am not necessarily looking for a Champions League team. That is something the media are saying, but it doesn’t interest me much.”

Sevilla will be looking to make a decision one way or another pretty quickly, to give their new manager a full pre-season to get to grips with his players and make any transfers they may need.
