Matteo Moretto gives Football España exclusive information on the latest deals dominating the papers in Spain, as revealed in Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing.
Barcelona did not want to lose control of the player because he was an important investment and they would like to see the fruits of such a large outlay. Vitor Roque is having a tough time adapting, the most normal outcome is that he will play regularly to grow and gain confidence.
A huge offer would change that – Barcelona are open to listening to offers for Roque, but the offer must be high – and the one that they had from Saudi Arabia was rejected by the player.
Next week will be important for both of Real Sociedad’s star midfielders, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino. As far as Zubimendi is concerned, it is not so much about the agreement between the clubs (he has a €60m release clause), but rather down to the personal choice of Zubimendi, who is yet to give a definitive yes to Liverpool.
He is very attracted by their offer, and would not be taking it because of the financial gain, but he still has to resolve his final doubts about leaving Real Sociedad. Obviously, Real Sociedad have started looking at potential replacements, so that they are not caught without a solution in case he does accept the other.
Former Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso has known he would not continue there for some time, and he has been offered to countless teams including Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli and Bologna… that’s just in Italy. In recent days he has also been offered to Manchester United to replace Leny Yoro after he was ruled out for several months with injury.
To date there is no response from Manchester United, who have other priorities at the moment. I would not rule out that another Premier League team could come in for him the coming days. Real Madrid obviously have their own injury issues in central defence too, but there has been no suggestion that Hermoso could cross the divide.
Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto, who is expected to publicly confirm his exit from the club this week, has been offered to Fiorentina, and Fiorentina are seriously considering him as an option. It is worth remembering that Fiorentina still have to resolve the future of Sofyan Amrabat too.
He is leaving but his exit route is still unclear, Amrabat is being linked a lot with manager Raffaelle Palladino, but they need midfielders and Roberto could be an opportunity for them. I would expect us to have news at some point during the next week on the matter.
Matteo Moretto will be back with more transfer news in the coming days, providing exclusive information on the biggest stories in Spain and Italy.
