TSG 1899 Hoffenheim head-coach Pellegrino Matarazzo has confirmed German striker Mërgim Berisha's return to the team following a dispute just prior to the international break.

Matarazzo credited newly-installed sporting director Andras Schicker with helping out and spoke on keeping up the team's momentum in this weekend's league fixture against Bochum.

Following a spat that saw him dropped from Pellegrino Matarazzo's Europa League squad in the week preceding the international break, German striker  Mërgim Berisha is once again an option for the TSG trainer heading into the weekend. Matarazzo confirmed the twice-capped German international's return to the squad while speaking at a Friday presser.

Matarazzo crediate newly installed sporting director Andras Schicker for helping resolve the dispute. Schicker's appointment also counts as a new lease for Matarazzo personally. The Sinsheim-based club made it a point to emphasize that the new club administrate structure is intended to support the American trainer's coaching regime.

“Mergim Berisha is permitted to return," Matarazzo said on Friday, "He rejoined full team training yesterday. He [Berisha] used the time off well to reflect and to reorient himself toward our shared team goals."

“There were several conversations [about the Berisha situation," Matarazzo went on to elaborate, "sometimes in pairs and sometimes in threes. Andras Schicker played an active role we are all happy to have him back.”

”As far as his current status [against Bochum] is concerned, that will remain between me and the player after a one-on-one conversation," Matarazzo concluded, "I'm very happy that Andras is here. We hope to keep up the spirit we had [against Stuttgart] this weekend."
