Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is ready to walk away for free in 2024 if they do not allow him to move to Manchester United this summer, according to Standard Sport.

After struggling to hit previous lofty heights in the 2022/23 season, the 24-year-old wants to leave Stamford Bridge.

Mount’s contract expires in 2024. He has been unable to agree an extension with the club.

United are pushing to sign the Cobham Academy graduate, but Chelsea have set a £70 million price tag.

The Red Devils reportedly made a £40m bid that was instantly rejected.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag is a massive admirer of the midfielder’s talents and wants to bring him to Old Trafford.

While many people worry about the player’s profile and how he will fit into the manager’s preferred formation, the Dutchman is keen on Mount.

The midfielder is keen on the move to Manchester and wants to join Ten Hag’s side.

Arsenal reportedly showed interest in him but realised he wanted United. Arsenal have moved on to targeting another Chelsea attacking midfielder in Kai Havertz.

Chelsea are open to selling Mount, but they will not let him go for cheap.

Their high demands may deter suitors, and the player is ready to see out his contract and walk away.
