La Provence are reporting that Olympique de Marseille forward Ruslan Malinovskyi (29) missed the club’s return flight from Toulouse after he struggled to urinate during an anti-doping test.

The Ukrainian international featured in Marseille’s 3-2 victory over Toulouse on Sunday evening. Igor Tudor’s side had fallen behind early but fought back in the second half to secure the three points and move to within five points of league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite the short distance between Toulouse and MarseilleLes Phocéens opted to fly for the trip, and whilst the rest of the team boarded the plane back to the Mediterranean city, there was one noticeable absence.

Malinovskyi, Eric Bailly and Sead Kolasinac were all summoned for antidoping tests post-match. The latter two players underwent the test quickly and rejoined their teammates in order to take the plane back. However, Malinovskyi struggled to urinate and therefore missed the flight.

La Provence report that the Ukrainian international (51 caps, seven goals) therefore had to make the 400km journey back to Marseille by car on Sunday night, arriving early Monday morning.
