According to L’Équipe, Olympique de Marseille have reached an agreement with FC Nantes to buy Quentin Merlin (21) for €12 million.

The left back is expected to join Marseille this Friday where he will sign a contract that will keep him with Les Phocéens until June 2028.

The club have been in the market for a fullback following the departure of Renan Lodi (25) to the Saudi Arabian club, Al-Hilal, with multiple options assessed, such as Nuno Tavares (24), Bradley Locko (21), and Angelino (27).

However, it appears that Marseille have now secured the services of the talented young defender, who has represented France in the under-age brackets.

The addition of Merlin to the squad will be considered a great success by the Marseille hierarchy as their priority coming into this transfer window was for a left back to be added to the team, especially one like the young Frenchman who has the flexibility to play within a back four and a back five.
