Foot Mercato are reporting that Olympique de Marseille are looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr (20) on loan this summer.

Ahead of the Champions League play-offs, Marseille are looking to reinforce their midfield, especially given that Mattéo Guendouzi looks set to depart Les Phocéens this summer. A return to the Premier League has been touted for the former Arsenal man, and even a move to rivals Tottenham is potentially on the cards, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter.

Whilst Marseille have been linked with Juventus’ Denis Zakaria and Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra, Foot Mercato are now reporting an interest in Sarr. Pablo Longoria has a strong interest in the Senegalese midfielder and wants to bring him on loan to the Vélodrome this summer.

However, Marseille may struggle to convince the Tottenham midfielder to return to Ligue 1 this summer. Sarr is happy in the Premier League, despite a difficult adaptation period to the English top flight. He is also attracting interest from other Premier League sides, and Sarr is therefore not prioritising a move to Ligue 1, where he once played for FC Metz.
