According to L’Équipe and RMC Sport, Olympique de Marseille are interested in Inter Milan midfielder Lucien Agoumé (21), however, Les Phocéens face strong competition from La Liga side Sevilla.
Whilst Sevilla already submitted a loan offer last week, a deal is yet to be completed for the young French midfielder, and the door has therefore been left open for Marseille to make a move. Loaned out to ESTAC Troyes and then Stade Brestois in the last two seasons, Agoumé, whose contract at Inter Milan runs until the summer of 2025, has played just four minutes of football with the Serie A club this season.
As a result, a departure is envisaged in January. It had looked as if Agoumé would join Sevilla, but faced with the absences of Valentin Rongier and Azzedine Ounahi this winter, OM have come into contact. That contact has intensified in recent hours. A loan deal with an option to make the move permanent is being discussed, according to L’Équipe.
Gennaro Gattuso has green-lighted the prospective deal and a decision from the player himself is expected to be made in the coming hours.
