Paul Pogba (31) is now officially permitted to resume his football career after his doping ban was reduced from four years to just 18 months.

However, La Pioche finds himself without a club. Upon the announcement of the reduction of his ban, Pogba and Juventus opted to part ways by mutual consent, leaving him free to sign with another club. Olympique de Marseille have frequently been touted as a destination for the France international.

Speaking to L’Équipe in early February, OM sporting director Medhi Benatia confirmed that the club considered signing the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder, however, with the player not yet fit, he added that it made no sense to do so before the end of the season.

“If something can be done, we will be delighted to welcome a player like Paul Pogba,” added Benatia. The door remains ajar. As per L’Équipe, Pogba is yet to make a decision on his future. He is attracting interest from the MLS and Japan. Both leagues’ transfer windows are still open.

However, should Pogba still be without a club come the summer, Marseille may reignite their interest. The midfielder has previously suggested a desire to remain in Europe, which would give him a good chance of making a comeback to the France squad.
