Olympique de Marseille are considering signing Everton striker Neal Maupay (28) on loan, according to a report this Monday from L’Equipe. The 28-year-old is entering his final contract year with Sean Dyche’s Toffees. Marseille are in the market for a centre-forward in the wake of Faris Moumbagna’s ACL rupture. The outlet understands that the OGC Nice youth product is high on Les Phocéens‘ shortlist to bolster their attacking options.

Maupay was an unused substitute for Everton’s season-opening 3-0 home defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion. The 28-year-old is reportedly keen to join Roberto De Zerbi’s side and return to Ligue 1. Marseille are planning to sign a centre-forward on loan, which means their pursuit of Inter Milan’s Uruguayan striker Martin Satriano would be ruled out. Marseille went off to a flyer last Saturday as they inflicted a 5-1 home humbling to Stade Brestois.
