As reported by Foot Mercato, several Ligue 1 clubs are interested in signing former Villarreal striker Cédric Bakambu.
The 30-year-old DR Congo striker is keen on a return to Europe after four years with Beijing Guoan in China and is available for free. Bakambu told Foot Mercato:
“Today, I prefer a sporting challenge. I’ve travelled a lot and made a good living, gained a lot of experience. I’m looking for a purely sporting project here in Europe. I started in Ligue 1 with Sochaux, but it was a little complicated because we fought relegation… In any case, I’m not focused on a single championship.”
Contact has already been established between the player and both Marseille and Lyon, both clubs have lost forwards to the African Nations Cup and are seeking cost-effective reinforcements. Nice and Lille are also keen say the outlet, as are Spanish and German clubs.
