Marcus Rashford was the hero as Manchester United defeated bitter rivals Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
Man City took the lead in the 60th minute when Jack Grealish headed home the opener for the away side.
But United battled back and won 2-1 thanks to two quickfire goals.
Bruno Fernandes levelled proceedings in controversial fashion in the 78th minute.
Four minutes later, Rashford got on the scoresheet for the seventh consecutive game as he tapped home from close range.
Rashford’s effort turned out to be the winner as United took all three points.
Peter Drury is one of the world’s best English speaking commentators and he was at his brilliant best after Rashford scored.
“[Marcus] Rashford waits. And Antony waits. [Alejandro] Garnacho will get another go. He’ll twist away from [Nathan] Ake… AND RASHFORD SCORES!
“The Reds! Twice in a trice! It is an Old Trafford tumult! Derby day is on its head! Now then Erik [Ten Hag] -what have you here?!”
He added when the camera showed Ten Hag’s animated reaction: “Even he – the most conservative of individuals – could not hold it in.
“Rashford has now scored in nine consecutive games.”
Rashford was struggling with an injury in the first half and it looked as if his race was run.
But Rashford shook off the injury and went on to score the winner.
Ten Hag praised the 25-year-old for his resilience after the game.
“I don’t have hair, but not one hair on my head to take him off,” he said, per talkSPORT.
“He has to suffer that. He has to sacrifice his pain. That is the case in top football.
“You have to deal with it and that is what he did. He is resilient and eager to win games and score goals.
“In the end, big thanks [to Rashford].”
Rashford and United are next in action when they take on Crystal Palace on Wednesday January 18.
Rashford will be looking to score in eight consecutive games in a row, while United will be hoping to extend their winning run to 10 matches.
