Marcus Maddison insists he is “thrilled” to have joined Bolton Wanderers on loan for the rest of the season.

Maddison arrived at Bolton on loan from Charlton Athletic on Deadline Day, having made a poor start to life at the Valley.

The midfielder made six starts and four substitute appearances in all competitions since joining the Addicks, scoring one goal and registering one assist.

But having failed to set the world alight under Lee Bowyer, Maddison now finds himself looking to impress in League Two with Bolton Wanderers.

Ian Evatt’s side sit 19th in League Two after a tough season so far, and they will be hoping that Maddison can add a bit of inspiration going forward.

Taking to Instagram, Maddison has insisted that he is “thrilled” to be at Bolton for the rest of the season, and that he is looking forward to getting regular game time under his belt.

The Verdict

It is such a surprise seeing Maddison drop down to League Two.

It was only a couple of years ago when he was one of the best players in League One and he was attracting glances from the Championship.

You have to wonder what his attitude is like having dropped down to League Two. His quality is there for all to see, and if Evatt can get him firing, then what a player Bolton have on their hands.

He shouldn’t be playing at that level, but it’s up to him to prove his critics wrong and start afresh whilst out on loan.
