Fulham manager Marco Silva pointed to the antics of Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes when calling out inconsistent punishments passed out by the FA.
The Whites were knocked out of the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage by United prior to the international break following a memorable ending at Old Trafford.
Having led 1-0, Fulham imploded late on and lost 3-1. Willian was sent off for denying the hosts a clear equaliser with his arm, while manager Silva was dismissed for his protests at the decision. Matters were made worse when Aleksandar Mitrovic pushed the referee and too received a red card, with a minimum three-match ban now in effect.
But Silva was unhappy with how the FA handled that incident in particular, alluding to Fernandes' unpunished shove on an assistant referee during United's 7-0 hammering at Liverpool at the start of the month.
"I respect the rules and that's it. I’m not the right person to say how many games," Silva said regarding Mitrovic's ban, which could be extended until the end of the season.
"It depends how they see it. Because it's not so strict, that the people touch an official should get three games or more. It's not so.
"A couple of weeks ago we had a good example [Fernandes at Liverpool] and not even a booking. You know the example that I am talking about.
"He [Fernandes] was not even booked...about the moment with ourselves, we regret. Mitro will learn and to improve."
