LA Galaxy are set to announce the signing of Marco Reus on a free transfer from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.
Although Reus has yet to be formally announced by the five-time MLS Cup winners, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that all has been signed between the two parties.
The 35-year-old won't join as a Designated Player with the likes of Riqui Puig, Joseph Paintsil and Gabriel Pec all under DP status. The Galaxy have high hopes of lifting MLS Cup in December, and Reus will no doubt strengthen their case for claiming their sixth title.

Prior to joining Borussia Monchengladbach, Reus left the Dortmund youth academy to join Rot Weiss Ahlen for a couple of seasons in which he donned 47 at first in 2007/08 before switching to 18 to 2008/09.
Reus then earned a move to Monchengladbach in 2009/10 when he first started wearing the 11 shirt. The rest, as they say, is history. Reus would keep 11 during his three seasons at Monchengladbach before his transfer to Dortmund ahead of the 2012/13 Bundesliga season in which he kept the same number all through his final 2023/24 season.
On the international stage, Reus wore 21 from 2010-2014 before switching to 11 through 2021 with Germany.

Unfortunately for Reus, the 11 shirt is currently worn by winger Gabriel Pec, who's one of the club's most important players who also joined during the winter transfer window. However, there still a few other shirt options for Reus outside of his favorite 11.
A few numbers that might catch Reus' attention are 16, 17, and 18 as all three are current vacant in the Galaxy squad. 23 has been vacant sine the legendary David Beckham's exit in 2012 and the front office could opt to let Reus wear the iconic number due to his iconic status.
Should Reus want to roll back the years before he potentially hangs his boots up, he could wear 47 to honor wear his career first began with Rot Weiss Ahlen.
Other unused shirt numbers that Reus could wear are 6, 12, 13, 26, 29 and 30.
