Borussia Dortmund will be without Donyell Malen for their Bundesliga game against Holstein Kiel on Tuesday night. The Dutchman is closing in on a move away from the club with talks with Aston Villa ongoing after the Premier League side increased their offer.

Malen started on the bench in Dortmund’s 3-2 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night, so Nuri Sahin is expected to field the same line-up. Illness is still rife throughout the squad which means Yannik Lührs and Almugera Kabar should make successive starts for the club, alongside Julian Ryerson – a full-back playing centre-back, and Yan Couto in defence.

Waldemar Anton, Ramy Bensebaini, Filippo Mane and Nico Schlotterbeck are all ill, while Pascal Groß is serving a suspension. In attack, other than Malen, Sahin has plenty of options but in place of the Dutchman, Jordi Paulina (20) is expected to be named on the bench for the third time in the Bundesliga this season as he awaits his debut.

As for Holstein Kiel, Lewis Holtby is expected to return to the line-up while there could also be starts for Andu Kelati and Dominik Javorček, both of whom have played a bit-part role this season.

Armin Gigović and Nicolai Remberg have both picked up four yellow cards this season and upon collecting a fifth, will serve a one game ban.
