Ruben Amorim’s side are unbeaten in their preparation period ahead of the new campaign, having won two and drawn one of their three matches on their tour of the United States.

They beat West Ham and Bournemouth 2-1 and 4-1 respectively, before a 2-2 draw against Everton in Atlanta, Georgia to seal the Premier League Summer Series title.

New recruits Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo both featured together for the first time against the Toffees, and they combined well with captain Bruno Fernandes in the front three.

United are currently locked in a battle with Newcastle to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, but seem to have won the race with reports detailing that the Slovenian would prefer a move to the north-west.

On the injury front, Amorim will still be missing Andre Onana, who has missed the entirety of pre-season with a hamstring issue, and Lisandro Martinez, who completes his ACL recovery.

Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Zirkzee are coming back from muscle injuries that kept them out of the back end of the Stateside trip.

United open their Premier League campaign against Arsenal at home on Sunday, August 17, when they welcome the Gunners to Old Trafford.

Among the fresh faces in the Arsenal squad will be Viktor Gyokeres, who played under Amorim at Sporting Lisbon. The Swede was on United’s striker shortlist this summer before he made the move to north London.

Man United predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Bayindir; Yoro, de Ligt, Shaw; Diallo, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Fernandes; Cunha

Doubts: Zirkzee, Mazraoui

Injured: Onana, Martinez
