A second-half fightback saw Manchester United defeat Everton 4-1 to go fourth in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Manchester United overturned a half-time deficit to comfortably defeat Everton and move back into fourth place in the table. Katja Snoeijs was gifted the opening goal inside ten minutes, when Maya le Tissier’s back-pass to Mary Earps was scuffed and fell short.

United piled on the pressure after half-time and had turned the score in their favour by the hour mark, Millie Turner heading in a Katie Zelem corner and Ella Toone netting moments after Hannah Blundell hit the bar.

Toone made it 3-1 when set up close to goal by Lisa Naalsund, who had earlier forced an excellent tip-over from Courtney Brosnan.

Earps made a smart save to avoid a tense finish, which was out of the question as Leah Galton celebrated her return with a goal form Rachel Williams’ pass.

West Ham and Brighton played out a goalless draw, moving the hosts seven points off the relegation place and the visitors back up into eighth place.

Maisie Symonds was denied in the dying minutes by Hammers’ goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold. Brighton went close again in stoppage-time, Elisabeth Terland’s deflected effort hitting the post. More time for a late opportunity saw Anouk Denton’s shot saved by Albion’s Sophie Baggaley.
