Manchester United are willing to part ways with Anthony Martial for a bargain fee, according to the Sun.

His hefty £240,000 / week wages are a massive obstacle in any potential deal as few clubs are willing to offer the 26-year-old that much.

Seven years on from when Martial completed a £38.5million to Old Trafford, it is safe to say that the deal has failed to bear fruit.

The Frenchman rose to prominence during his time at French side AS Monaco, where he was touted as one of the most promising youngsters across Europe.

Anthony Martial attracted the interest of several top clubs before Manchester United won the race for his signature, making him the then most expensive teenager in a £38.5m deal back in 2015.

However, the former Monaco man has failed to live up to expectations and is now set to be shown the door permanently this summer.

Martial, who spent last season on loan with La Liga outfit Sevilla, has scored just eight goals over the last two seasons for Manchester United.

Reports claim the Red Devils are now ready to listen to offers of around £20m to offload the 26-year-old, £18.5m short of the fee paid to secure his services back in 2015.

Martial is one of several players to leave Old Trafford this summer, with the trio of Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and midfielder Andreas Pereira linked with an exit this summer.

Bailly has been offered to fellow Premier League side Newcastle United just one year after penning a four-year contract, while Phil Jones has so far failed to attract any suitors.

Anthony Martial has scored 79 goals and made 50 assists in 269 appearances for Manchester United, while scoring just once in 12 outings while on loan at Sevilla.

His best-ever stats came in the 2019-20 campaign when he struck 23 goals and registered nine assists in 48 appearances under Norwegian head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
