In a recent report, journalist Alfredo Pedulla mentioned that Manchester United were showing interest in Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito last January. It is believed that the Red Devils were keen on recruiting the Italian centre-forward last winter.

Esposito’s Impressive Rise In Italian Football

Esposito enjoyed a good run of form while on loan at Spezia Calcio as he put in a run of productive displays for them in the final third. The Italian youngster banged in 17 goals and grabbed a couple of assists in 35 matches for the Italian club last season in Serie B.

The 20-year-old is currently among the best young strikers in Italian football. Therefore, the Red Devils would do well to lure him to Old Trafford in this summer transfer period.

His current contract at Inter Milan will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, Man United would have to make a convincing offer if they decide to go back for him this off-season.

Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Go Back For Esposito?

Esposito excels at finding some space for himself to get some strikes on target. He has proven himself to be a lethal finisher in front of the opposition goal during his time on loan at Spezia Calcio.

The Italian talent can even create the odd chance for others around him in the final third. Standing at 1.91m, he is a strong presence in the air as well. However, Esposito is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if Man United manage to bring him on board in this summer transfer window. Furthermore, he needs to find a way to improve his link-up play in the opponent’s half.

At 20, the Italian whizkid has got a bright future ahead of him as long as he continues to improve with each season. He is already good enough to serve as a decent, rotational piece in Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Esposito might even help the Red Devils compete across all competitions over the next few years. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch for in the future, so Amorim would be wise to go back for him before the end of this transfer period.
