Manchester United to host Fulham – FA Cup quarter-final draw | OneFootball

The draw for the quarter-finals of the FA Cup has been carried out.

The fifth round ties have been played over the last two days. The first team to book their place in the last eight was Brighton and Hove Albion, who defeated Stoke City 1-0 thanks to Evan Ferguson’s first-half strike.

They were soon followed by Blackburn Rovers. The Lancashire-based outfit pulled off a shock, knocking out Leicester City with a 2-1 win at the King Power Stadium.

Fulham got the better of Leeds United in one of two all-Premier League ties, with Joao Palhinha and Manor Solomon both netting beauties. Meanwhile, Manchester City comfortably saw off Bristol City.

The biggest upset of the round came on Wednesday, as League Two side Grimsby Town qualified for the quarter-finals. They defeated top-flight Southampton at St. Mary’s, with Gavan Holohan scoring twice from the spot.

Championship leaders Burnley managed to scrape their way past ten-man Fleetwood Town, thanks to Conor Roberts’ 90th minute finish. And that wasn’t the only late winner of the evening, as Alejandro Garnacho fired into the far corner to complete Manchester United’s turnaround at home to West Ham United.

Completing the quarter-final line-up was Sheffield United, who also gave us a surprise. They eliminated Tottenham Hotspur, with Iliman Ndiaye scoring the only goal at Bramall Lane.

All quarter-final fixtures are scheduled for the weekend of March 18.
