Manchester United winger Antony is set to join Real Betis this summer.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the two clubs have agreed a package worth €28 million for a permanent transfer.
The deal includes a sell-on clause worth half of the profit Betis make on a future transfer.
United agreed a fee in principle with the La Liga outfit for Antony last week, but the move was in jeopardy over how the two clubs would settle the player’s proposed salary reduction.
However, they have now seemingly resolved the issue as United will not have to make a termination payment to the 25-year-old.
Antony joined the Premier League giants from Ajax in a deal worth around €100m in 2022. He scored just 12 goals in 96 appearances.
United sent him on loan to Betis for the second half of last season, and he impressed with his performances during the short stay in Spain.
In 26 appearances across all competitions, he bagged nine goals and five assists, helping Manuel Pellegrini’s side reach the Europa Conference League final.
The move is in the best interests of all three parties. United will receive a fee to help them remain compliant with financial rules.
Antony will move to a club where he will have regular first-team opportunities for his development.
Betis have acquired a player who can help them achieve their goals in La Liga and the Europa League this season.
