Manchester United predicted XI vs West Ham – Lots of changes for Carabao Cup

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to make a number of changes tomorrow as his side take on West Ham for the second time in four days.

The two teams are set to go head-to-head in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford – a competition which usually sees top managers rest senior players to blood the younger stars.

I think Solskjaer will be looking to give minutes to fringe players and we’ve got a few who are knocking on the first-team door for more minutes.

We could see Dean Henderson return between the sticks because part of me feels Tom Heaton will be made wait longer to make his debut.

At centre-back, the skipper will start, so we could see Harry Maguire alongside Victor Lindelof. The manager could also go with Eric Bailly or Phil Jones!

With Alex Telles’ return date still unknown, I think Luke Shaw will start this one with Diogo Dalot on the opposite flank. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has already scheduled some time off with his Champions League suspension and the Portuguese alternative deserves to be brought in for this one.

Nemanja Matic could make up a double pivot with Donny van de Beek in the middle – allowing Jesse Lingard to come into the number 10 role.

Jadon Sancho has yet to find the back of the net in a United shirt, but Wednesday night could be his time to shine. We expect him to play on the left, with Juan Mata on the right, and Anthony Martial up front.

SN’s predicted XI: Henderson; Dalot, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; Matic, Van de Beek, Lingard; Mata, Martial, Sancho.
