Manchester United have told Kobbie Mainoo that they have no plans to let the midfielder leave before Monday’s deadline.

Mainoo is open to exploring a loan exit as he seeks regular first-team football. The 20-year-old has been an unused substitute in each of the club’s opening two Premier League games.

Mainoo wants to secure regular football as he looks to break back into the England set-up ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

The midfielder featured prominently during the run to the Euro 2024 final last summer but has not been capped in almost 12 months.

Mainoo sees his long-term future at Old Trafford and is open to a loan exit.

However, The Athletic are reporting that Manchester United want the academy graduate to stay and fight for his place in Ruben Amorim’s team.

Clubs in Europe and England are monitoring the situation ahead of the deadline for business. Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are among the Premier League teams who have previously expressed interest.
