Manchester United are said to have lost out on a new training kit deal worth £200 million over 10 years due to the anti-Glazers campaign run by the club’s fans.

The supporters of the Red Devils are furious with the Glazers because of their involvement in the proposed European Super League (ESL).

The fans and the owners have never been on the same page since their takeover in 2005, but the ESL saga took their relationship to a new level.

United were scheduled to host their arch-rivals Liverpool last Sunday.

However, angry fans rushed into Old Trafford, waving anti-Glazer banners and demanding them to leave the club.

The game was subsequently postponed and will now be staged on May 13.

Myprotein was planned to be the new kit partner to replace AON from next season.

The Cheshire firm is owned by Manchester-based company The Hut Group.

According to a report from The Guardian, United’s group managing director Richard Arnold has announced that The Hut Group have pulled out of the deal.

One of the fans groups with the hashtag #NOTAPENNYMORE have also launched a campaign where they are targeting United’s commercial partners.

The same report mentions that the group wrote an open letter to Adidas, TAG Heuer and Cadbury ‘vowing to target their products.’

THG feel threatened that their products could face a backlash from United supporters which is the main reason behind them walking away from the £200m deal.
