Tonight’s Champions League tie against Istanbul Basaksehir at Old Trafford should see Manchester United with an almost fully fit squad although one player is self-isolating due to Covid-19 contact.

Speaking to MUTV, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Paul Pogba should be available again after missing Saturday’s game with an ankle injury sustained while on international duty with France. ‘I hope Paul is going to be available,’ the boss said. ‘He trained this morning [Monday]. It’s still uncomfortable and some pain, so we’ll make a decision on that in the morning.’ Eric Bailly has also returned to full training and Mason Greenwood is expected to play, leaving Luke Shaw and Phil Jones as the only injured players in the squad. ‘I hope nearer to four weeks, but with hamstrings you can’t risk anything and he’s still not training with us,’ Solskjaer said on Shaw. ‘Hopefully, near four [weeks out] but more likely close to six.’ The manager then revealed that Jesse Lingard is unavailable due to Covid restrictions. ‘Jesse is still self-isolating because he’s been in contact with a COVID positive. He’ll be back soon. ‘Apart from that we have one or two little niggles that we’ll have to make a decision on towards the end.’ There have also been reports that Dean Henderson is set to start in goal tonight but the manager would neither confirm nor deny this. Basaksehir have no new injury concerns and could include former Spurs and West Brom man Nacer Chadli for his first start on his comeback from injury.
