WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Red Devils this morning.
The 28-year-old England international defender spent some of her youth at Manchester United before re-joining the club in 2018 upon the formation of their senior team. Turner won the Barclays Women’s Championship title with the club in her first season and was a member of The Red Devils’ Adobe Women’s FA Cup-winning side last term. Turner has made 167 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions to date in which she has scored 11 goals.
Turner has played her part in Manchester United keeping the best defensive record in the Barclays Women’s Super League this season and the club have now been able to retain her services for the long-term.
Speaking following this morning’s announcement, Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner said “She’s one of the originals, she has a steep history in Manchester United. She is one of the kids that came through the academy and I’m so excited [for her future].
“I’ve challenged Millie, I want Millie to be better. As incredible as she is, she can be a leading light for our team in many moments but I want her to be even better. Her next challenge should be to win things with Manchester United and get her place in an England team. She’s got work to do in order to do that on a consistency basis but we are so grateful that she is part of this team.”
Turner could next be in action for Manchester United when they face Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.
