It has been a busy 12 months for Manchester United’s new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Ratcliffe, 71, and his INEOS group announced on Christmas Eve last year that they would buy a stake in Manchester United.

It took until February for the deal to be made official when it was announced that the British billionaire’s stake would be 27.7% – slightly more than what was initially reported.

Ratcliffe’s INEOS group run football operations at Old Trafford as a result and they are making big plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to The Sunday Times Rich List, Ratcliffe has lost more than £6 billion in the last year.

Ratcliffe (net worth of £23.519 billion) now ranks fourth in the Sunday Times Rich List for 2024. It is topped by Businessman Gopi Hinduja and his family.

It would be fair to say Ratcliffe still has a bit of spare change lying around after buying into the biggest football club in the world.
