Manchester United bide their time with Manuel Ugarte to force PSG reduction | OneFootball

Manchester United are happy to bide their time when it comes to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

The Reds are hopeful that PSG will lower their valuation of the Uruguay midfielder, who they’ve priced at £51 million this summer.

According to The Guardian, United are willing to wait until the transfer deadline day to try to sign Ugarte.

Personal terms between United and Ugarte are believed to have been agreed.

Ugarte could become the fifth United signing of the summer after Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

The report states that there does not have to be any outgoings to finance the deal, but that doesn’t give United a licence to overspend. They are still trying to do smart business like they’ve done throughout the summer.

United will not pay PSG’s £51m asking price and Ugarte was left out of Luis Enrique squad for their Ligue 1 opener against Le Harve on Friday. They aren’t going to keep hold of an unhappy player, not getting the minutes he deserves, when they could easily pocket approximately £40m for his signature.

This means United could bide their time to force a reduction from the French giants.

That said, United will listen to offers for several players between now and then. Those players include Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Scott McTominay, among others.

The report adds that Sancho’s switch to PSG is either as part of the Ugarte deal as separately is unlikely.
