Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing F.C. Copenhagen striker Amin Chiakha this summer.
Red Devils across the world are still soaking in the glory of yesterday’s wonderful FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.
Two goals from two United teenagers, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo were enough for Erik ten Hag’s side to win the famous old trophy.
However, it is no secret that United have had their issues in front of goal in this campaign, regularly depending on 21 year old Rasmus Hojlund to lead the line, in spite of his relative inexperience of topflight football.
With only 57 goals scored in 38 Premier League matches, United will be aiming to be considerably more lethal in the coming season.
Due to the impotency in front of goal, the side from Old Trafford have been linked with numerous strikers including Benjamin Sesko and Ivan Toney.
However, a new name has cropped from reports in Denmark that suggest United could be on the hunt for a young star in the Danish Superliga.
Tipsbladet state that “the big English Manchester clubs, United and City, are also both following the hot striker, who has scored goals both in the U19 League and in the UEFA Youth League, the youth Champions League.”
The magazine reports that “there are many young and talented players running around FCK. One of the great talents that stands out and has been noticed internationally is Amin Chiakha.”
“The many goals from the young and hard-working striker have not gone unnoticed” with a host of clubs around Europe, including Ajax and Juventus interested in the player.
A move for the youngster could be on the cards as “there is only a year and a half left on the contract between Chiakha and FCK, and it is therefore not inconceivable that with the great foreign interest, something could happen already this summer.”
“However, there is no doubt that FCK will do their best to keep the attacking talent”, as he has already trained with the senior team.
The Danish finisher has been in red-hot form this season scoring 24 goals in 32 under-19 games, including eight strikes in nine games in the UEFA Youth League.
The starlet has been described as a “classic striker – a real No 9 who has international potential”. It has also been claimed that “he has a physically, tactically and technically strong package with all the necessary skills to become a big name in his position.”
Whilst the forward would be likely too inexperienced and raw to make an impact in United’s first team, it highlights the direction that INEoS are moving in. It has already been reported here that scouts at the club are shifting their attention to the South American and European markets with young talents such as Boca Junior’s Aaron Anselmino and AC Milan’s Francesco Camarda being heavily scouted by the club.
