OneFootball Videos

Andre Onana 7- Kept United in the game with multiple marvellous saves, but the game will be remembered for his cleaning out the Burnley player to concede a penalty.

Diogo Dalot 5- A come-down from his usual high standards as he wasn’t able to get involved in either phase of play.

Harry Maguire 7- Held the fort with some last-ditch interventions and clearances as Burnley ran through United’s non-existent midfield.

Casemiro 3- Was going fine for him before he inexplicably headed a nothing ball straight up in the air in his own box which led to Onana’s error and Burnley’s penalty. Continues a chastening season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 4- Not threatening anybody’s place in the team with recent displays. Could have made much more of an impression with this long run in the team but looks a level below the standard required to play consistently for United.

Kobbie Mainoo 6- Went close to scoring with a shot from the edge of the box but otherwise couldn’t control the flow of the game as he has made a habit of doing.

Christian Eriksen 4- After Sheffield United’s obliging display, United went back to chaos and a non-existent midfield as Eriksen suffered due to the pace of the game.

Antony 6- Involved in attacks but never threatening to score until he latched onto a misplaced Burnley pass and finished at the far post. Improved second-half.

Bruno Fernandes 7- United’s best player creatively as he tried to start attacks and was full of invention and effort but teammates let him down with their finishing.

Alejandro Garnacho 5- The biggest culprit of missed chances as he fluffed many which should have given United some cushion to protect. Still he just keeps going and that’s a trait worth admiring.

Rasmus Hojlund 5- United don’t involve him at all but he doesn’t help himself either by struggling with holding up the ball. Remained on the fringes.

Substitutes:

Scott McTominay 5- Came on to play as a natural centre-forward as Ten Hag ran out of ideas. United ultimately scored off a Burnley mistake with no involvement of McTominay. Got subbed off injured.

Amad 6- Came and did his usual buzzing-about thing to improve United’s attacking flow but will probably be back on the bench next time now that Antony scored here.

Sofyan Amrabat 5- Came on late as the game got frantic and he looked incapable of ramping it up again.

Mason Mount 6- Came on in injury time in place of injured McTominay.

Manager Erik ten Hag 2– Back to chaos football, confusing subs, two of which had the ever-loyal Old Trafford belt out deafening boos when he took off Mainoo and Hojlund for Amad and McTominay. He has run out of ideas and is leaning into what’s not working.
