Two of the heavyweights of the Premier League have set their sights on the signing of Real Sociedad star Álex Remiro.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Manchester United and Chelsea as being the sides in question.
Both on the lookout for reinforcements between the posts with a view to next season, the Red Devils and Blues alike are understood to have earmarked Remiro as a leading target.
The 29-year-old, for his part, is in the midst of a stellar campaign with the aforementioned Real Sociedad, enough to pique the attentions of clubs across all of Europe.
Board members from both Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, in turn, have gone as far as to initiate contacts with Remiro’s entourage, to gain a better understanding of the kind of fee likely to be involved in any deal.
As much has been passed on to the Real Sociedad brass, who, in their response, have pointed towards the club’s star shot-stopper’s €70 million release clause.
Remiro, for his part, remains more than happy in San Sebastián, with those behind the scenes at Anoeta therefore not at all worried when it comes to outside interest in their no.1’s services.
A move to England ahead of next season, as a result, is considered highly unlikely on the part of all parties involved.
