Manchester City’s teenage defender Emma Siddall has joined FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division club AFC Fylde on loan.

The Coasters announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club Twitter account this evening. Siddall has gone straight into the AFC Fylde squad for this evening’s FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division fixture against Burnley at The County Ground in Leyland.

Siddall has come through the Manchester City academy system and she has largely represented the club at WSL Academy League level this season. The young defender has made 13 appearances for The Cityzens in this season’s WSL Academy League in which she has scored one goal.

Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor called Siddall into the senior squad for the club’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup group stage fixture against Blackburn Rovers last October. The player came off the bench to make her senior debut as Manchester City recorded a 6-0 win at The Academy Stadium.

Siddall joins an AFC Fylde side that have enjoyed a solid campaign to date. The club are currently occupying eighth position in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division table and they will be hoping for a strong end to the campaign to enable them to finish in the top half.
