Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw will be aiming to extend her stellar record against Tottenham Hotspur during Friday’s showdown between City and the Londoners at the Etihad Stadium.
In what is the first of three outings at the arena this term, Gareth Taylor’s side host Spurs in the Barclays Women’s Super League on 8 November - with kick-off scheduled for 19:30 (UK).
Having scored seven goals in all competitions already this term, the Jamaican will be buoyed entering the fixture with one her favoured opponents.

Goals have been the theme of Bunny Shaw’s time at the Club so far – leading our all-time scorers chart with 79 at present after 93 outings.
Across her five league appearances against Spurs, she has scored a staggering nine goals which is an average of 1.8 per game against them in the WSL.
What’s more, only one against the Londoners in the league has been from the penalty spot.
Among those nine goals against Spurs, six have come via two respective hat-tricks at the Joie Stadium.
The first was in March 2023 when she headed home in the first half before completing her treble after the interval with an expertly dispatched penalty and sublime volley from close range.
That helped us to a 3-1 success during 2022/23 and she repeated the trick only eight months later in November 2023 and early into the following campaign.
In an eventual 7-0 home triumph, Bunny scored three before half-time with two fantastic headers before she drilled home from just inside the box on the cusp of the break.
Perhaps one of Bunny’s greatest strengths is her ability in the air – and this is reflected by her netting four goals from headers across her WSL outings against Spurs.
In total, four of her nine have been scored from headers, but there have also been variations in the way they’ve been netted.
Her first in a 3-0 win in the capital in 2022/23 saw Shaw dart to the near post at a corner and glance home before showing her poacher’s instinct in the reverse fixture by ghosting into the box and nodding into the net.
Then in the emphatic 7-0 win she powered home following a pinpoint cross from the left ahead of producing a jaw-dropping diving header to double her tally in the eventual hat-trick.
Remarkably all of Bunny’s WSL strikes against Spurs, apart from one, have come from inside the box.
Her only strike from outside the area came in a 3-0 success in London in 2022/23 when she collected the ball, drove towards the box and drilled home – helping us to three points.
When Bunny has been involved, Manchester City have won four out five WSL matches against Spurs since her arrival at the Club in 2021.
That means we possess an 80% success rate over Robert Vilahamn's side when the Jamaican has featured in the league against them.
Our only defeat came in September 2021 when the north Londoners cancelled out Lauren Hemp’s opener to record a 2-1 win at the Joie Stadium.
Shaw’s goalscoring exploits will understandably grab the headlines, but her influence and ability across other on-field aspects make her a crucial cog in City’s machine.
In her five WSL matches against Spurs she has completed seven dribbles, recovered the ball 10 times and produced a passing accuracy of just shy of 70%.
What’s more, she has won an total of 22 duels, meaning she’s played integral roles in our past fixtures with Tottenham alongside her remarkable goal tally.
