According to Sky Sports, Manchester City are poised to match Manchester United’s £70m bid for Leicester  City F.C.’s Harry Maguire.

After originally sending a bid of £65m that was turned down by Leicester, it seems like both Manchester teams are willing to go to £70m at the moment.

It’s widely known that Leicester’s position has always been that they have no intention or need to sell the centre-back, but are willing to listen to offers that exceed the £75m world-record fee paid by Liverpool for Virgil van Dijk.

The 26-year-old, along with other internationals, was not part of the group that reported to begin Leicester’s pre-season training schedule on Monday at their Belvoir Drive training complex.

However, it’s not known if he will join the club on Sunday when they head to Évian-les-Bains for six days of training in the French Alps.
