Manchester City plan medical for teenage forward as transfer agreement nears

Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign Sheffield Wednesday forward Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri and bolster their academy ranks, as per a new report.
Cadamarteri is one of England’s brightest attackers and has gained popularity across the pyramid after a stellar campaign in front of goal at Sheffield Wednesday, with the 15-year-old scoring 24 times in the Professional Development League in the recent campaign.
City have a rich array of academy graduates at and away from the club who are playing at the highest level, with Phil Foden, Rico Lewis, Oscar Bobb, James McAtee and Nico O’Reilly amongst those currently in Pep Guardiola’s squad having graduated from the academy.
Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Liam Delap and Romeo Lavia are amongst those who sought permanent moves away from the Etihad Stadium to progress their careers with regular first-team football and are now impressing elsewhere in the Premier League.
Manchester City have had a busy summer so far and have gotten a major chunk of their business done in the first 10 days of June, adding all of Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki to their squad ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Cadamarteri has lit up the youth ranks at Sheffield Wednesday and despite interest from an array of Premier League sides, Manchester City have won the race to secure the services of the teenager, who will sign a scholarship with the 2023 treble winners in the near future.
Manchester City have elevated their status as one of the most attractive academy destinations in Europe and have produced some great talent since the club’s Abu Dhabi takeover in 2008 – with the owners embracing the challenge to build a great academy since the beginning.
The next few weeks could see headlines dominate outgoings as Manchester City look to trim their squad and make some decisions on contracts of first-team players who have failed to meet expectations in recent seasons.
