Yesterday, it was reported by Fabrizio Romano that if Manchester City sold Savinho to Tottenham, they’d move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo. It looked to be a case of one Brazilian international in and one out at City. But that particular move is seemingly now off. A new report indicates that Manchester City have decided not to sell Savinho. If the latest report is correct, it would seem that Manchester City’s attacking options for the 25/26 season are now set.
Guillem Balague has reported that Manchester City have decided not to sell Savinho. The Brazilian international has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. Furthermore, Balague reports that Manchester City’s decision to keep Savinho ends their interest in signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid.
If Guillem Balague’s report is correct, Manchester City’s attacking options are set for the 25/26 season. Pep Guardiola’s squad is packed with quality options in the final third. Several of those options were on display during Manchester City’s 4-nil win over Wolves at Molineux. If Savinho is set to stay at City, he’ll be competing with Oscar Bobb, Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki for a place on the right wing. The challenge is for Savinho to become Manchester City’s first-choice right winger. That will be no easy task. Especially given the display from Oscar Bobb at Molineux.
There is one fact that could still see Savinho leaves City. If the Brazilian international pushes for a move to Tottenham it may still happen. Brazilian publication Globo reported last week that Savinho’s agent had travelled to London in a bid to complete Savinho’s move to Tottenham. It remains to be seen if Manchester City have put that idea to bed or if Savinho’s camp will push harder for a summer move.
