According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester City executives have reportedly promised Pep Guardiola that they will target Rafael Leao of AC Milan at the end of this season. It was also mentioned that after Guardiola agreed to a two-year deal at the Etihad, the City chiefs gave assurances that he will be backed in the transfer market.

Leao’s Impressive Run of Form For AC Milan This Season

The 23-year-old is having yet another excellent campaign in Milan as he has managed to produce several influential displays on the left wing of the Rossoneri’s attack. He has found the back of the net on seven occasions and earned six assists over 20 appearances for the Italian club this season across all fronts.

Is Leao A Decent Fit For Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?

Leao has been a reliable performer at San Siro; he has proven his worth as a prolific winger who can find the back of the net and set up his teammates in front of the goal.

The Portuguese sensation excels at getting past defenders from tight situations and can cause a lot of problems for his marker out in the wide areas. There is no denying that the talented winger has what it takes to become a future star in European football. However, Phil Foden remains a guaranteed starter for the Sky Blues on the left flank so Leao would have to settle for less game time compared to being a regular for the Rossoneri.

At 23, Leao’s best years are ahead of him which makes him a decent fit for the Mancunian giants. However, life in the Premier League is tough and demands a lot from the players but if Leao could handle the pressure and perform consistently then he could be a brilliant addition to Guardiola’s attacking department.
