Pep Guardiola and the Manchester City squad continue their preparations for the 25/26. The City squad returned to training on Monday, August 28. Yesterday saw Pep Guardiola’s side take on Preston North End in a behind-closed-doors friendly. City beat the Championship side 1-nil in the match played at the City Football Academy.
Rico Lewis scored the winner for Pep Guardiola’s side at the City Football Academy yesterday. His goal saw City pick up a 1-nil win as they began to ramp up their preparations for next season.
CityXtra has reported that Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, John Stones, Nico O’Reilly, Rico Lewis Rayan Ait-Nouri, Nico, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Rayan Cherki, Savinho, Jeremy Doku, Oscar Bobb and Erling Haaland all played a part in yesterday’s match. The exact tactics used by Pep Guardiola and the starting lineup he chose are unknown.
The Manchester City squad will continue training this week. Pep Guardiola’s side take on fellow CFG club Palermo in Sicily next Saturday August 9. The match kicks off at 20:00 UK time and will be streamed live on mancity.com for those with the a CITY+ subscription. Following that match Pep Guardiola’s side begins their Premier League campaign with a trip to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
