Manchester City have unveiled a major change to their kit for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.

Pep Guardiola’s side were crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions with a 4-0 win over Fluminense in Jeddah on Friday evening, after goals from Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.

Manchester City opened the scoring within 40 seconds after an improvised finish from Alvarez, before Foden’s deflected effort doubled the Blues’ lead midway through the first-half.

Foden added a third in the second-half with a sliding effort, before Alvarez concluded the victory with a thumping finish in the 88th minute.

The Club World Cup trophy is Manchester City’s fifth of the year, having already won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Super Cup.

The Blues’ victory in Saudi Arabia will be commemorated throughout the remainder of the campaign on the men’s first-team shirts, with Manchester City announcing a new commemorative badge.

The FIFA World Champions 2023 badge will be on player’s shirts from Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Everton at Goodison Park, with supporters also able to purchase the patch for replica shirts.

Manchester City will wear the gold 2023 FIFA World Champions badge in all Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches across the remainder of 2023/24 campaign.

A statement on the Manchester City website following the victory, said: “The FIFA World Champions 2023 badge is available to add to Manchester City replica and authentic shirts now, exclusively via the official online store, Arndale store and Stadium store.

“City will wear the FIFA World Champions 2023 badge in all Premier League and Champions League matches across the remainder of 2023/24 – starting with our league fixture with Everton on Wednesday 27 December. ”
