The Belgian international was substituted during City’s 2-nil win over Tottenham on Tuesday night due to injury. But he appears ready to take part in Sunday’s must win game based on his appearance at training on Friday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola told the media during his pre-game press conference that how De Bruyne trained would dictate if he would be available for Sunday’s match. When asked about De Bruyne’s condition, Guardiola told the media: “We will see today. Yesterday he was off, today we train.”

The question marks surrounding De Bruyne’s availability now appear to have been answered. Given that the midfielder has now trained, he appears to have overcome the knock he suffered against Tottenham. De Bruyne will likely have a crucial role to play in helping his team break down West Ham’s defence.
