After a manic Saturday, the Premier League returned with just two games on Sunday â both though, were fascinating encounters.
Hereâs what went down.
Scorers: Morris 14â˛; Højlund 1â˛, 7â˛
Manchester United weathered the storm against Luton Town to rack up a fourth straight Premier League victory.
The hosts were forced into a late change before kick-off as Cauley Woodrow replaced Elijah Adebayo, who suffered an injury during the warm-up.
Rasmus Højlund put the Red Devils ahead inside 35 seconds after seizing on an errant back pass by Amariâi Bell to produce a record-setting sixth consecutive goal.
It was not long before the Dane doubled his tally at Kenilworth Road by expertly chesting Alejandro Garnachoâs long-range volley past Thomas Kaminski.
But the Hatters struck back shortly before the quarter-hour mark as Carlton Morris was on hand to head home a deflected Tahtih Chong attempt in the area.
Morris fired a fresh warning shot later in the first half by dragging a shot wide as Rob Edwardsâ side grew in confidence alongside an increasingly raucous home crowd.
Their persistence almost paid off after the interval when Gabriel Osho helped on a Ross Barkley free kick which AndrĂŠ Onana had to scramble across his goal line to collect.
United, however, remained in command and spurned a series of gilt-edged chances as Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Højlund all failed to extend the lead for their side.
Erik ten Hagâs men now sit just four points away from the final Champions League qualification place while Luton remain a point clear of the relegation zone.
Scorers: Buonanotte 19â˛, Welbeck 24â˛, Robinson (OG) 75â˛, Adingra 78Ⲡ86â˛
Brighton hammered 10-man Sheffield United 5-0 on a disastrous afternoon for the Blades and their survival hopes.
This was a big game at the bottom for Sheffield United with Chris Wilderâs side sitting at the foot of the Premier League table with 13 points.
It was the Seagulls who almost took the lead inside eight minutes though as Adingraâs cross was poked at his own goal by Robinson, but Foderingham was there to palm the ball away.
The Blades afternoon got much more difficult soon after as Holgate was given a red card for a wild lunge on Mitoma.
A bad afternoon for the hosts then got even worse as Buonanotte bundled in from a corner to give Brighton the lead.
Midway through the first half the away side doubled their lead as Welbeck pounced on a loose ball and fired home.
The hosts thought they had pulled one back in first half stoppage time but Osbornâs effort was ruled out for offside.
Into the second half and once again it was the south coast club who looked most likely to score with Mitoma going close after some great footwork down the left-hand side.
The three-goal lead did eventually come with 15 minutes to go as Robinsonâs outstretched leg capped off an awful day for the South Yorkshire side.
Just a few minutes later however it was 4-0 as Adingra volleyed in a Pascal GroĂ cross.
The rout was complete late on as Adingraâs deflected effort looped over the goalkeeper and nestled into the bottom corner.
Monday night sees Everton take on Crystal Palace before Brentford travel to Manchester City on Tuesday.
