Manchester United are still pursuing deals for Frenkie de Jong, Antony and Cody Gakpo as the club look to bring in further additions before the deadline.

United are working on potential arrivals before the window’s closure on September 1, with reports in the Netherlands saying that the club have not given up on De Jong despite the recent addition of Casemiro, while talks are ongoing to sign both Antony and Gakpo as the Red Devils look to bring in a forward.

De Telegraaf are reporting that United remain hopeful of completing a deal for De Jong given Barcelona’s financial issues, the Catalan club still unable to register Jules Kounde to the squad and needing to make further cuts.

The Red Devils have chased De Jong all summer, but have so far struggled to entice the midfielder to Old Trafford despite agreeing a £72m fee with the Spanish side in July.

The report says that United are also in talks to sign both Antony from Ajax and Gakpo from PSV as Erik Ten Hag looks to bolster his attack.

Ten Hag is keen to reunite with the 22-year-old Antony in the Premier League, and the club have seen a bid rejected in the region of £67m.

Antony formed part of Ajax’s title-winning team under Erik ten Hag last season, with the Brazilian contributing 12 goals and 10 assists across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Gakpo is on the club’s radar after a brilliant season with PSV last term. The 23-year-old was named as Dutch Footballer of the Year in 2021/22 after scoring 21 goals in all competitions. The winger, who has earned seven caps for the Netherlands, has a price-tag of around £34m.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph confirm that talks for both Antony and Gakpo are occurring ‘in parallel’, though they say that United are likely to sign just one.
