Man Utd signing Alvaro Fernandez Carreras thanks Real Madrid and coaching staff

Manchester United signing Álvaro Fernández Carreras has announced his departure from Real Madrid.

The 17 year-old wing-back touched down in Manchester yesterday to complete his move to United.

On social media, Fernandez Carreras posted: "“It was not an easy decision and I only have words of thanks. After having belonged to the white house for the last 3 years, I have made the decision to leave this great club and I wanted to thank all my teammates and the entire Real Madrid coaching staff for making me a better person and footballer.

"It has been a real pleasure to wear this shirt, and to represent this shield. The time has come to say goodbye and take another path in my football career, take a step forward towards my dream.

"Thank you, Real Madrid."
