Manchester United have been hit with an outbreak of COVID-19 which has disrupted training over the weekend, per The Athletic.

They could not train on Sunday as normal following the win over Norwich City on Saturday night due to the developing situation.

As a result, only non-contact individual outdoor sessions took place after a ‘small number of players and staff’ returned positive lateral flow tests on Sunday morning.

Those who did were immediately sent home before training began.

It is reported that all members of staff and players who travelled to Norwich tested negative and the Premier League have now been notified of the cases.

As things now stand, it is unclear if United’s clash with Brentford on Tuesday will go ahead.

Tottenham are another Premier League club suffering a COVID-19 outbreak resulting in their trip to Brighton this weekend being postponed.
